Testex® Analog Dial

Testex Micrometer Dial Thickness Gauges measure the surface roughness of blast cleaned surfaces. They are the only gages specifically designed for use with replica tape having the correct accuracy, closing force, anvil/contact point dimensions, and parallelism specifications required for accurate measurement of replica tape. Includes choice of snap gauge, instruction manual, carrying case, and one (1) year warranty.

Testex Micrometer FAQ’s

Do they require calibration?

Each micrometer arrives factory calibrated with a long-form certificate. We recommend periodic checks using the supplied reference shim.

What is the difference between digital and analogue models?

Digital units provide an easy-to-read LCD display and simple data output. Analogue models offer a traditional dial and require no batteries.

Can I use the micrometer for materials other than Testex tape?

They are specifically designed to measure replica tape impressions; using them for other materials may compromise accuracy.

How do I zero the micrometer?

Close the anvils gently on the reference shim or on a clean piece of unburnished tape and follow the instructions to set zero.

How durable are the anvils?

The anvils are hardened and precision-ground, designed for years of repeated use in harsh site environments.

Is a certificate of calibration included?

Yes, every unit ships with a long-form Certificate of Calibration traceable to PTB/NIST, meeting ISO and QA documentation requirements.

  • Digital or Analogue Micrometer (model of your choice)

  • Long-form Certificate of Calibration (PTB/NIST traceable)
